SINCE the early 80s, I have produced
architectural models in close creative collaboration with my clients. From the very beginning it was
of great importance to me to view modeling not as some detached craft, but instead to work together
with the architect from blueprint stage onwards. This closeness enables me not only to understand the
individual language of the designer on a fundamental basis, but also to use the experiences thereby
gained to better adapt to the ever-changing requirements of architecture.
The digital expansion of the field is of decisive influence and allows my clients to follow
and control development processes of the model almost simultaneously. My photographs of the
individual stages can i.e. be digitally processed by the architect and used for pre-presentations.
This development has in my experience heightened the appetite for three-dimensional-models,
especially with architects who create pieces of art through their work. Here I can happily
demonstrate my abilities with new materials and procedures.
